Views from the other side

A woman just called asking whether or not one of our hosts, who is an Obama supporter, get special privileges because he supported Obama and not Mccain in the last election. She asked this because he has his normal AM drive slot, a pre-recorded show at midnight, and a third show that acts like a "Best Of" that airs Sunday mornings and for the first time in about a year aired during a Saturday afternoon.
She also wanted to know why Rush Limbaugh doesn't get more time and why he gets off a whenever he wants.

If an Air America host voted for Mccain, would they get similar calls?

Cure All

We do a fish oil pill show about three times on the weekends and most of the callers are generally good, although a caller recently said this to me:

"Listen, listen...get a shot of beer...can of beer in the morning. You'll be fine."

What causes brain aneurysm's

My Sunday morning shift requires my alarm clock to go off at about 4:15 in the morning so I can be at the station to set up at about 5 or 5:15 in the morning, so I already have a short fuse. Then I get phone calls like this from callers at 7:30 in the morning.

Caller : "Yes, I'd like to have the phone numbers for your radio statio."


You just called my stations number, to ask me for the stations number.

Offensive Music

Once a week my station plays Sinatra music, but not everyone likes Frank, especially this woman:

"That song about ladies being tramps is offensive and I would like it if you never played that song again."

How to speak on air if you are a caller

1. Call number
2. Give name, where you're calling from, and questions or comments
3. Wait on hold until host gets to your call

An elderly woman just asked me if my co-host (info-mercial) was going to call her to help her with her problems. She gave me all her information and wanted to make sure if she stayed by the radio long enough that the co-host would call her and speak to her about her problems.
Remember, these people do other things like operate cars when they can't see over the steering wheel.

More Racism

Caller: "One of your callers just made a racial comment so I want to make one too...Why is the white cop always getting killed by the black man?"

I hate my listeners 95% of the time.
This isn't the other 5%.
